In the middle of the dark woods — a land with an obscured location that those who knew had their hearts silenced into secrecy — one might find that there was a strange voice that could be heard late at night. It would whisper, “All who enter this forest will disappear forever.”
Jack, a nearby villager, decided to enter the woods to see if the rumors were true.
The next morning, Jack prepared to enter the woods. He planned to enter the woods at midnight to show the villagers that the rumors were not true. He stood at the entrance to the woods, where the trees lined in warning. Despite the eerie flickering of lights accompanied by the swish of the lantern, Jack journeyed on.
Just as soon as he stepped foot into the woods, the sound of the whispering wood, eerie and swooshing in thumping anguish, could be heard, once again warning: “All who enter this forest will disappear forever.”
Deeper into the woods Jack went. The air turned humid and Jack felt as if the trees were watching him.
“Hello, Jack..Jack..Jack,” The trees whispered ominously.
Jack suddenly felt scared and suffocated. He wanted to escape but his feet were stuck to the ground! He could not leave the whispering woods! Jack began to cry, “Why didn’t I listen to the rumor? I should not have been stubborn!”
The next day the villagers, who had begun to notice an unsettling silence in his home, found Jack missing with a note on the table. The ink had stubborn tainting in each swerve of the pen, that the message had begun to grow undeniable:
“I have gone into the forest to prove your stupid rumors wrong!” The note read. Jack was gone.
Hours turned into days and days turned into nights, yet Jack was still not found or seen.
From that point onwards, the villagers knew that the whispering woods were not to be messed with. In fact, every so often, one might be able to hear the woods say:
“All who enter the forest will disappear forever.”
