English Week at Bina Bangsa School was finally here, and excitement filled the air as everyone looked forward to a week of fun events. The students and teachers brought their best making it a week no one would forget!

Tuesday, October 29: The Parade of Fictional Characters
English Week began with the Fictional Characters Parade. Students and teachers dressed up as their favorite characters from books, movies, and games, turning the school into a world of imagination and surprise.

The winners of the day were Aran and Armand from Secondary 1 Teamwork, who wowed everyone with their creative outfits. Even the teachers joined in on the fun, and Mr. Aep’s Doctor Strange costume, complete with a cape and props, won him first place among the teachers. Every costume was jaw-dropping, and the day ended with everyone smiling.

Wednesday: Debate Demonstration
Wednesday was very different compared to Tuesday, as the Debate Team Club took the stage. The topic for the debate was academic streaming, an issue that everyone had strong opinions on. The audience listened closely as both sides argued their points with each team trying to beat the other.

Owen from Secondary 4 Zeal led the government side as Prime Minister, supported by Ryu from Secondary 1 Teamwork as Deputy Prime Minister, Giselle from Secondary 3 as Government Whip, Armand from Secondary 1 Teamwork as Government Reply, and Cheryl Gabriel from Secondary 1 Logic as the scribe. Their arguments were strong and persuasive winning over the judges and earning them the win! The crowd cheered as the government team celebrated their victory!

Thursday: Speech Choir Performances
On Thursday, the grand finale of English Week took place with the Speech Choir. The Lower Secondary students performed “If I Were A Voice” by Charles Mackay, while the Upper Secondary students delivered “The Bells” by Edgar Allan Poe!

When the winners were announced, Secondary 1 Teamwork took first place for the Lower Secondary with their amazing performance. In the Upper Secondary, the Junior College students won.

English Week ended with laughter, cheers, and a lot of excitement! Each day brought the school closer together, celebrating the joy of the English language in ways everyone could enjoy, from costumes to debates to the speech choir. It was a week to remember at Bina Bangsa School! It was a shame it had to end so soon, but fortunately, there is always next year!
