On August 17, 2026, Bina Bangsa School Bandung celebrated Indonesia’s 81st National Day. It was the day Indonesia first declared independence and became its own country. The celebration took place from 7:15 until 11:15, filled with thrilling competitions and exciting events that really represented the school spirit.
The day started off with the flag ceremony led by the JC1 with a choir of JC2 students. After the upacara at 7:45, all students changed clothes and were split into their respective houses to practice their house cheer one last time. At about 8:15, everyone moved to the football field for the house cheering competition.
Red house went first, shouting loudly. Yellow followed with creativity while Green chanted harmoniously as Blue finished strong. Each house displayed their effort, making it hard to choose the best. At 9:00, the true events of the day started. Two competitions happened simultaneously. Water Up, a game about catapulting a cup full of water and catching it to fill up a bottle, and Marble Run, a race to get the other side while balancing a marble on a spoon in your mouth, were combined as a single relay race. At the same time Sack Race, a race while your feet are in a sack, and Bakiak, a team race game with three people’s feet together on two boards, was the other relay race.
At the end of Water Up, the players were drenched. Yellow finished first passing the balloon to the Marble Run players. The Yellow players started with the other houses following behind. The sack race had also started and everyone was jumping as far as they could go. Blue finished first, leaving the other houses in the dust which caused them to win the Bakiak race as well.
After a quick break from 9:30 to 10:00, the Kerupuk eating competition started. Sadiya of Secondary 3 Logic was the first to finish but surprisingly at the end Blue house won. After the eating competition, Tug of War soon started. Yellow was against Blue, Green was against Red. Yellow and Green showed off their house spirit by winning in under seven seconds.
At the end of the day, everyone gathered at the football field to sing a song for Indonesia. This wasn’t about winning or losing, it was about the love for our country and the people who fought for it.
