Playing Faster, Higher and Stronger – BBS Bandung Sports Day 2526

On the 15th of January, 2026, BBS Bandung held its annual Sports Day with the theme,  “Citius, Altius, Fortius” or  “Faster, Higher, Stronger”. 

The students were split into the four houses, the deadly Red Rhinos, the mighty Yellow Eagles, the great Blue Dolphins, and the agile Green Panthers.  At 7am , all the students were gathered according to their houses for the school song conducted by Kathlyn from JC1 and the national anthem conducted by Metta from Secondary 4 . After a quick warmup led by Trevor from Secondary 4, the games soon began.

The BBS Bandung Sports Day included several games. These games are the 100 m run , 400 m run, 800 m run, 400 m relay mix, long jump, turbo javelin, shot put, dragon tail,  jumping rope, and the 400 m house run.

The first event was the 100 m run. The competition was divided into four categories: Lower Secondary (Male and Female) and Upper Secondary (Male and Female), with two participants representing each House. For the Lower Secondary (Male) category, Red House was represented by Sachio (S1) and Dylan X (S3). Blue House was represented by Shikar (S3) and Cruz Ethan (S2). Yellow House was represented by Nigel and Devlin, while Green House was represented by Louis (S2) and Dylan (S3).In the Lower Secondary (Female) category, Adrianna (S2) and Selena (S3) represented Red House. Blue House was represented by Jacquelin (S2) and Catherine (S2). Yellow House was represented by Yashvi and Jesslyn (S2), and Green House was represented by Whitney and Cecilia (S2).For the Upper Secondary (Male) category, Kent (JC1) and Rafael (JC1) represented Red House. Blue House was represented by Trevor (S4) and Keagan (S3). Yellow House was represented by Sean Dylan (JC2) and Jeff (JC1), while Green House was represented by Melfan (S4) and Kenji (JC2).In the Upper Secondary (Female) category, Lana (JC1) and Josephine (JC2) represented Red House. Blue House was represented by Megan (JC1) and Kayla (JC2). Yellow House was represented by Verlyn (JC2) and Rafaela (JC2), and Green House was represented by Claudia (JC1) and Charlene (JC1).

Following the 100 m race, students competed in the 400 m event across Lower and Upper Secondary categories. The Lower Secondary male participants were Kai from Red House, Aran from Blue House, Jack from Yellow House, and Hansen from Green House, while the Lower Secondary female category were Sadiya from Red House, Joan from Blue House, Angellina from Yellow House, and Zoe from Green House. In the Upper Secondary male category, Sam from Red House, Trevor from Blue House, Daniel from Yellow House, and Kenzie from Green House took part, and the Upper Secondary female participants were Hillary from Red House, Dea from Blue House, Elena from Yellow House, and Ashlee from Green House.

After the 400 m event, students competed in the 800 m run across Lower and Upper Secondary categories. In the Lower Secondary male category, Adric of Secondary 3 from Red House, Josh of Secondary 1 from Blue House, Jun of Secondary 2 from Yellow House, and Duncan of Secondary 3 from Green House took part. The Lower Secondary female category featured Shine of Secondary 1 from Red House, Sabrina of Secondary 1 from Blue House, Aishah of Secondary 2 from Yellow House, and Giselle of Secondary 3 from Green House. In the Upper Secondary male event, Roderick of Secondary 4 from Red House, Azriel of JC2 from Blue House, Derrick of Secondary 4 from Yellow House, and Clement of JC1 from Green House competed. The Upper Secondary female category included Emmelyn of Secondary 1 from Red House, Kayla of JC2 from Blue House, Kayla of Secondary 4 from Yellow House, and Hillerie of JC2 from Green House.

After a short break, the relay race took place. The Red House team consisted of Kingston (S2), Caroline (S3), Darren (JC1), and Nicole (S4). The Blue House team was made up of Nikhil (S1), Joelle (S1), Rafa (JC1), and Aiko (JC1). The Yellow House team included Rylion (S3), Michelle (S3), Jun An Lin (S4), and Nicole M (JC1). Lastly, the Green House team consisted of Bryan (S3), Kaylee (S3), Clement (JC1), and Richelle (JC1).

Following the relay race, all of the house members stood to compete in the house run. This competition did not depend on the fastest runner, but rather how the houses worked together in helping each other finish the race as fast as they possibly could.

Sadly, due to unforeseen weather conditions, long jump, turbo javelin, shot put, and jumping rope, were  cancelled. Finally, the last game, dragon tail was played. The students were separated into their houses and were  told to make a line by holding the shoulder of the person in front of them, if the line was ever so even slightly broken, the house would lose. 

Overall, this BBS Sport’s Day showcased amazing teamwork, dedication, and sportsmanship.
