Students had the opportunity to listen to each of the three candidate\u2019s goals , and on&nbsp; that day it was the student\u2019s turn to finalize their votes and choose the Student Council for&nbsp; academic year 2026-2027.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The election began with the prefects and teachers introducing the voting process of the election&nbsp; which mirrors the real-life experience of the presidential election in Indonesia. The students&nbsp; begin by lining up and being given a piece of paper with the candidates\u2019 names. Then, one by one, the&nbsp; students go to stations to discreetly poke a small hole in the group they choose. Finally, they hand their papers to the prefects and mark their pinkies with ink as proof that one has already cast their vote.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regardless of who won, all three candidates demonstrated courage and commitment by&nbsp; stepping forward to represent their fellow students. When interviewed on how they would still&nbsp; contribute to the school if they were not elected, Naomi, the president of 1M , Matthew&nbsp; representing G3, and Morgan, representing A.C.E expressed their commitment of serving the&nbsp; students by still participating in other student leadership activities or finding other ways to serve&nbsp; the school community.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The response reminds us that leadership is not simply about winning a title, it is about&nbsp; listening, serving others, and making a positive impact.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When asked what they learnt during their campaign, Matthew and Morgan of Secondary 3 Logic highlighted the importance of communicating with others, listening and understanding&nbsp; different perspectives. On the other hand, Naomi emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity and trying to focus on improving ourselves instead of finding flaws in other people.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cThe student council gives the students a chance to share their ideas, suggestions, and&nbsp; concerns to build a strong school community with teamwork by organising school activities and&nbsp; encouraging the students to take part and be involved in school,\u201d Morgan explained.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The election also showed that leadership is not simply about winning a position, but about&nbsp; having the courage to make a difference.
